Aqua sapphire Boadicea the victorious 100ml parfum

 The nose behind this fragrance is Christian Provenzano. Top notes are Davana, Pineapple, Rum and Saffron; middle notes are Musk, Saffron and May Rose; base notes are Moss, Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha, Amber, Sandalwood and Vanilla.

As the name of this sparkling addition to the Sapphire Collection implies, Aqua Sapphire is a unique marine or oceanic perfume inspired by eternal seas. Top notes are awash with tropical pineapple, rum, saffron and boozy davana. A clean seaweed note in the heart is allied to classic Rose de Mai and soft woody musks. Seaweed has facets of iodine and salt, these are subtly rolled through the surf of materials in Aqua Sapphire hinting at hidden depths. 

Cypriol, sometimes called Nagarmotha has a dry, bitter herbal quality, this is used in the base notes with gentle mosses, vanilla and ambered woods. Such a stylish take on the ozonic fragrances that dominated the 90s, playing rich liqueur gourmand notes against the romance of roses and the oceanic freshness of coastal sea spray. 

The cypriol can have an overbearing presence in perfumes if not formulated with skill. In Aqua Sapphire it suggests smouldering beach fire glowing in the dark as flowers dream and the sea whispers.
